Cheeeeeese!

I mean really, how can you not like this guy? Look how happy he is about getting traded to the Wizards...

Mike James. Who? Mike James.

So here's the big news...Wiz traded Antonio Daniels and a conditional draft pick for Mike James and Javaris Crittendon. Not a bad move. Grunfeld and the media are making a big deal about Crittendon but its Mike James that I'm really happy about. He wasn't getting any burn in New Orleans (anyone heard of CP3?) but in Toronto he put up some pretty great numbers. 20.3 points on 46.9 percent shooting (44.2 percent from three-point range) with 5.8 assists in 2005-06. PLEASE let him come to Washington and continue to shoot that way. There's a sort of Bermuda Triangle-esque thing about the Bullets/Wizards franchise that makes players come to Washington and do one of three things:

1. Acquire a mysterious career ending injury (plantar fasciitis is my personal fav)
2. Completely lose their shot
- In all fairness, most guys don't COMPLETELY lose their shot. They usually show flashes of greatness and give you false hope that maybe this time we'll actually have a three-point shooter only to disappoint you with bricks and airballs for the next 10 games.
3. Try to rent a condo for an 8-day vacation

So again, PLEASE let Mike James come in and actually hit some threes for us. Who was the last three-point specialist we had? Tracy Murray? Tim Legler? Yikes. I'm sad to see Dee Brown go. I think he was a great guy and a decent player but with the lowest scoring backcourt in the league...something had to give.

We play Boston at 8:00 PM tonight. My guess is this season will be a little different from last season when we beat them 3 times. I hope I won't be staying up until midnight tonight for nothin...

I'm baaaaaaaack...

So here I am making my second attempt at blogging. The first attempt was pretty unsuccessful, only resulting in about 2 or 3 posts before I got bored with it. My plan this time is to focus pretty much on the Wizards and NBA (probably some College Bball highlights, especially as we approach March Madness and a sprinkling of Redskins coverage as well). I suppose that was my plan the first time as well...so part deux of the plan is to...actually post! Here's to hoping someone other than my Dad reads what I have to say. Cheers.
